Byron Reed was a wealthy real estate baron in the early years of Omaha. He was known and is still known for his extensive collection of rare coins, historic documents and other Items. His collection is on permanent display in its own wing of the Western Heritage Museum.

Byron Reed was a prosperous land developer in Omaha, Ne. He was noted for his famous coin collection and collection of famous autographs. Which after his death he will'd to the people of the city of Omaha. Later in the 1990's the city sold part of the collection, but the famous 1804 silver dollar remain'd home in Omaha.
