Born to parents Lars Olsen Strangstad (1826-1920) and Karen Christiansdatter Linnerud (1829-1905). He Emigrated with his father from Norway in 1881 to Wisconsin, and settled in Onalaska. He married Julia Sophia Olson on 16 Oct 1882 in La Crosse, Wisconsin. He was working in Shreveport when he took Malarial fever and Typhoid fever took his life on 23 August 1902.
