A son of Charles and Elizabeth Mear Hanley, he married Sherma Eckley on August 2, 1931 in Peoria.


He was a superintendent at A. Lucas & Sons for 52 years. He was a member of St. Mark Catholic Church, American Welding Society, Antique Auto Club, Peoria Historical Society and Spaulding Council Knights of Columbus.


One son and one daughter preceded him in death.
