Lewis Hamilton Alexander, well-known court baliff [sic], of 12 West Third street, died at the Frederick County Chronic Hospital Sunday afternoon at 5:30
o'clock, aged 81 years.
He was the son of the late Martin E. and Mary Catherine Stockman Alexander. He was a member of the Modern Woodsman's Assn. He was a farmer, connected with Anders Transfer Co., and caretaker of the Elks Club.
Surviving are his wife, Sylvia Irene Anders Alexander; four children, Mrs. Mary L. Beall, Washington; Sheriff Horace M. Alexander, this city; Major Cleon H. Alexander, W. S. Army Signal Corps, Honolulu and Kenneth L. Alexander,
Hagerstown. One sister, Mrs. George Hoffman, this city, four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren, and a number of nieces and nephews also survive.
