Susan Farnsworth married Thomas S. Farnsworth in Hydesville, Wayne County, NY in Nov 1860 or 1861. They were first cousins and also first cousins once removed. Their mothers were sisters and Susan's father (Wright III) was a nephew of Thomas's father (Samuel). Susan died in Rome in 1913 following surgery for breast cancer. She was apparently much loved by family and friends. After her death, Thomas remained a widower for another 20+ years.

Susan and Thomas were married for over 50 years and had 10 children, 9 of whom lived to marry. When Susan died in 1913 there were 30 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren. When Thomas died in 1935, there were 34 grandchildren, 50 great-grandchildren, and even one great-great-grandchild.

Their children were:
