The daughter of Ethan and Miriam Collin Armstrong. She attended Elmira College, Elmira, NY; as well as studied art and music in New York City. Geneva became a talented singer, artist and writer. Her first position was as a vocal instructor at Elmira College, and she later taught at the Cosmopolitan School of Music and Dramatic Arts in Chicago. She never married and made her home in Chicago with a cousin whom she dedicated a privately printed book titled "Woman in Art."
