Virginia McGehee Day, 84, of Summit, died Oct. 16, 2003, ather residence.

Visitation is 1 p.m. Saturday at Hartman Funeral Home of McComb,until services there at 3 p.m. The Rev. Jimmy Smith will officiate.Burial will be in Woodland Cemetery in Kentwood, La.

Mrs. Day was born March 26, 1919, in Amite County. She wasthe daughter of Jake and Ella McGehee.

She was retired from the East Baton Rouge School Board. Shewas a member of Central Baptist Church in McComb.

Mrs. Day was in Myrtle Celeste Chapter No. 231 Order of theEastern Star in Baton Rouge, La., the Judith Robinson ChapterDaughters of the American Revolution in McComb and the Brent RiflesUnited Daughters of the Confederacy of McComb.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, GeorgeDay Sr.; three sisters and two brothers.

Survivors include one son and daughter-in-law, George Day Jr.and Mayze of Laurel; one daughter, Lou Paris of Summit; one brother,Will Davis McGehee of Hammond, La.; three grandchildren and theirspouses, George Brandon Day of Hattiesburg, Roddy Max Paris Jr.and Mary, and Molly Putnam and Michael, all of Birmingham, Ala.;and two great-grandchildren, Madeline Putnam and Max Paris.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Horizon Hospice.
