Son to the late Ralph and Elva (Tuttle) Peterson. He retired from AMC/Chryslter. He enjoyed professional wrestling and the Green Bay Packers. His other hobbies included woodworking and selling crafts, golfing, bowling, playing cards, metal detecting, hunting, fishing, and camping.

He is survived by his wife, Lois of Kenosha; his three sons: Terrance Peterson of Kenosha, Rick (Theresa) Peterson of Racine, and Dennis (Susan) Peterson of Chicago.

He is preceded in death by three brothers: Marvin, Alvin and a brother in infancy; and three sisters: Margaret Gabriel, Norma Snider, and Audrey Schaefer.
