MARTINEZ, Ga. - Alan Atkins, 57, son of the late Donald Atkins and Clarice Lunt, of Manchester, England and Martinez, Georgia, died Thursday, April 3, 2008 at his residence. A native of Stockport, Manchester, England, he was a member of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA). Alan was a beloved husband, loving father and loving grandfather who cheered the hearts of all who knew him.

He is survived by his wife Katherine (Kaye) McKinney Atkins, three daughters Rebbecca (Becky) Atkins and her fiance, Nico Smithson, Faye Benson and Amy Atkins. He is also survived by five grandchildren: Leonie, Dylan, Callum, Olivia and Lucas. He is survived by two sisters, Christine Pickering and husband David and Jean Crowe and husband Greg and his paternal aunt Betty Partington, mother-in-law Peggy McKinney and brother-in -law Larry McKinney and wife Dianne. Alan was predeceased by his son Nicholas. A Memorial Service will be held at 6:00 P.M., Saturday, April 5, 2008 at Poteet & Son Funeral Directors, Dr. Jon Reimer officiating.
