FEBRUARY 27, 1931 – JUNE 14, 2019

Adriana D'Alba Randazzo, age 88 peacefully passed away on June 14, 2019 at The Windsor of Cape Coral, Florida.
Born February 27, 1931 in the town of Ficarazzi near Palermo, Italy, she was the second eldest of six siblings. She was a talented and successful fine tailor and dressmaker, learning her trade at a very young age and later refining her talent in Palermo. In 1958 she married the love of her life Antonino (Tony)and resided near the historic center of Palermo. She gave birth to her beloved daughter Francesca in January 1962. In January 1967, with her husband and daughter, she crossed the ocean on the Italian cruise liner Raffaello and settled in Brooklyn, New York only to return to Palermo three months later. In August 1968, she bravely returned to Brooklyn, on her own by airplane, leaving her husband and daughter behind who followed four months later by ship in December 1968. In those four months Adriana procured employment, rented and furnished an apartment and provided all necessities for the arrival of her family. A year later in December 1969 she gave birth to her beloved son Giovanni. She continued working from home for a short time designing and tailoring custom made dresses and bridal trousseaus for many clients. For a few years she owned a bridal boutique in Brooklyn, and in the mid 1970's she began a long and successful career working as an assistant designer for some of the finest fashion houses in the Garment Center in New York City. In January 1998 she retired and together with Tony, moved to their beloved home in Cape Coral, Florida where she lived happily with Tony, until her illness made it difficult for her to remain there safely. Adriana was an extremely talented dressmaker, designing and detailing many wedding and special occasion gowns and dresses that family members and friends still cherish to this day. She was a sweet, generous, funny, loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother, who enjoyed the company of loved ones and friends, making delicious dinners, and especially enjoyed making bread and pizza together with her grandchildren.

Adriana is predeceased by her elder sister Gina D'Alba Fontana (2015). She is survived by her beloved and devoted husband of 61 years Antonino Randazzo; her daughter Francesca Randazzo Cassano and husband Vito of Sparta, New Jersey; her son Giovanni Randazzo and wife Vicki (Bacher) of Freehold, New Jersey; and her beloved grandchildren Valerie Randazzo, Daniela Cassano, Alexandra Randazzo and Rocco Randazzo.
