Princess Maria Francesca of Savoy was the youngest daughter of Victor Emmanuel III of Italy and his wife, Elena of Montenegro. She was a sister of Umberto II of Italy and of Queen Giovanna of Bulgaria. Princess Maria Francesca was married in Rome on January 23, 1939 to Prince Louis of Bourbon-Parma, by whom she had four children.
