Obituary for Ann Gray
Mrs. Ann Gray, née Hitt was born March 17, 1938, to Arthur and Stella Hitt in Mayo, SC. She was the last of 11 children. She lived in Kansas and Oklahoma before graduating from Longton High School in Longton, KS in 1955 and moving to San Antonio, TX to be near her sister, Grace. In 1967, she married Rev. C.T. Gray, and together they had one son, Marc. Ann was completely committed to Marc and Rev. Gray. She held many jobs in San Antonio over the years including at USAA, Main Bank and Trust, Red River Dave Real Estate, The Psychological Corporation, Arrow Upholstery and others. Ann acted as caregiver for Rev. Gray as his health declined. She would never leave him. She became a widow in 2012. Due to the tremendous stress, physical hardship and heartbreak of this period, Ann's health began to decline soon after. With Marc acting as her caregiver, she continued to live in San Antonio until her passing due to Covid-19. Ann committed her life to Christ at a very early age and served him faithfully her whole life. Rev. Gray and Ann pastored Full Gospel Chapel in South San Antonio for decades. Ann was the pianist, organist, choir director and assisted and supported Rev. Gray in all aspects of the ministry. Ann was a wonderful wife and mother. She had a quick smile and loved to laugh. She was a naturally gifted musician and could play numerous instruments. She was strong with a kind heart. She loved children and little animals. She enjoyed puzzles of all kinds. She liked to travel. She is survived by her son, Marc Gray of San Antonio, TX. and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Chapel services will be held at 10:00 AM on Wednesday, July 22, 2020 at Mission Park Funeral Chapels North with interment to follow at Sunset Memorial Park.
