Elizabeth Belden was a daughter of John Belden (d. 26 November 1713) and Ruth Hayes (m. second John Copp) of Norwalk.

The probate records of her father list his only surviving children as "two Sons and one daughter namely John, Samuell and Elisabeth Beldon". She has been called mistakenly "Ann Belden" (and "Ann Hayes") in publications and internet pedigrees, in part due to confusion with Anne Smith (her mother-in-law), wife of Justus Bosch.

Elizabeth Belden married Justus Bush (son of Justus Bosch and Anne Smith) in 1720 (after 7 March 1719/20).

Mother of eleven children.

She died before 10 September 1746 in Greenwich, Fairfield County, Connecticut.

Mrs. Elizabeth (Belden) Bush was presumably buried in the family cemetery (Bush Family Burial Ground at Horseneck) adjacent her home. Unidentified remains from the Bush Vault at Horseneck were removed to the Bush plot in Putnam Cemetery in 1894.

On 12 October 1749, her widower Justus Bush and their children (not named individually) were mentioned in the will of John Copp of Norwalk, her stepfather, as beneficiaries from the estate of John Belden.
