Experience (Experians) was the 4th of 10 children (4th son) born of Nathan Fisk (b. 1722) and his wife Eleanor Whitney. Experience's siblings were: Josiah (b. 1745), Nathan (b. 1744), Oliver (1750-1750), Miriam (b. 1758), Lurana (b. 1759), Eunice (b. 1762), Stephen (b. 1747), Dinah (b. 1747), and Sylvanus.

Expe: (Experience) served as a Corporal 8 days and traveled 110 miles in one of 2 Companies of Militia in Westminster, Windham County, Vermont, under the overall command of Major Elkanah Day, that marched in the Alarm, October 17, 1780.

Experience served 3 days and traveled 30 miles as the non-commissioned officer of a Company under the command of Captain Jesse Burk that marched in the alarm at Newbury, Orange County, Vermont, March 1781.

Experience served as a Lieutenant in Captain Abner Seeley's Company, Major Gideon Brownson's Battalion of Vermont Troops from the 9th of August to the 6th of November, 1782, both days included, being 2 months and 27 days. During the same period, Experience served a total of 11 days between the 6th and 20th of September as the Lieutenant in Captain Benjamin Whitney's Company, Colonel Stephen R. Bradley's 1st Regiment of Vermont Militia when they were raised to assist the High Sheriff in an expedition to Guilford.

Experience enlisted October 31, 1783 and served 4 months and 4 days as the Lieutenant of a Company under the command of Captain Benjamin Whitney. The Company was raised from Guilford and other adjacent parts in the County of Windham, Vermont from October 31, 1783 to the 1st of March, 1784 inclusive. Experience was discharged from this service on March 1, 1784.

Experians married, October 12, 1785 at Westminster, Windham County, Vermont, where his 1st three children were born, Mary (Polly) Earls by whom he had 9 children (5 sons and 4 daughters): Sophia (1786-1844), Roxana (1787-1829), Sylvanus (1790-1792), Nathan (1791-1857), Polly (b. 1794), Experians (1796-1825), Artemis (Artemas) (Artemus) (1798-1872), Almira (1800-1826), and Earl (1804-1808).

After his 3rd child was born in January 1790 and before September 1791, Experians and his family moved to Brookfield, Orange County, Vermont. He represented Brookfield in the Vermont Legislative, 1793, 1795, 1798 and 1813.
