Cletis Elwood Jaco, 71 retired farmer, of 318 Spruce St. died early this morning at Northwest Mississippi Regional Medical Center. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at National Funeral Chapel with the Rev. W. V. Tidwell, pastor of Independant Baptist Tabernacle, conducting the service. Burial will be in Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
Mr. Jaco was born in Bruce, the son of the late F. A. and Lonnie Bratton Jaco. He had lived in Clarksdale for over 40 years and had been in the logging and scrap metal business in addition to farming. He was a member of the Independant Baptist Tabernacle.
He is survived by his wife, Velma Morrow Jaco; six daughters, Mrs. Ruby Tidwell, Mrs. Jean Ashmore, Mrs. Lottie Avant, Mrs. Jeanette Carpenter, Mrs. Tiney Louellyn and Miss Jackie Jaco, all of Clarksdale; two sisters, Mrs. Helen Tedford of Clarksdale and Mrs. May Belle Harvell of Memphis; two brothers, Lowell Jaco and Clinton Jaco, both of Jackson; 29 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren.
