Merritt Wideawake Succumbs at 75
Merritt Wideawake, 75, died Monday at his home in Manchester Depot after a long illness.
Born in Canada March 1, 1877, he was the son of Gilbert and Amelia (Morris) Wideawake.
He is survived by his wife, the former Lucy Roberts; a son, Merritt, of Hebron, N.Y.; a sister, Mrs. Mary Reilly of Bennington; a brother, Peter, of Manchester; and four grandchildren.
The funeral will be held Wednesday at 9 a.m. at St. Paul's church in Manchester with the Rev. John R. Ready officiating.
Burial will be in Factory Point cemetery.
Friends may call at the Brewster Funeral Home in Manchester Center Tuesday from 7 to 9 p.m. It has been asked that flowers be omitted.
