She was the daughter of John Jacob Brown and Magdelina Louisa Gunner. Her parents migrate from Union County, Pennsylvania to Franklin County, Ohio on horseback before moving the family to Terre Haute, Vigo County, Indiana,
Hetty married Thomas Green on February 10, 1831 in Vigo County, Indiana.
Hetty is mentioned in her father's will.
