Ottis Dees, 75, of Searcy, went to be with his Lord August 23, 2007. He was born December 22, 1931 in St. Francis County, Arkansas to the late Harvey and Pearl Dees. At the age of 36, he surrendered to preach and attended Bellflower Missionary Baptist Seminary in Bellflower, California. He pastored churches in Oxnard, Sacramento, and Imperial Valley, Santa Cruz, and many others in California before retiring and returning to Searcy. He was a member of Bethel Missionary Baptist Church in Searcy.

He is preceded in death by four brothers, Clement, Herman, Harvey Jr., and Wesley Dees. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Helen Dees; two sons, Roger Wesley and his wife Mary, David Lynn and his wife Debra, both of California; two sisters, Lavada West and her husband Dick, and Luthell Brewer; four grandchildren, Brian, Alan, Kenith and Jeffrey Dees of California.

Visitation will be from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm, Monday, August 27th at Bethel Missionary Baptist Church. Services will immediately follow visitation at 2:00 pm. Interment will be in White County Memorial Gardens.
