Mrs. Aldridge was a patient in Seaton Hospital in Austin, Texas when I worked there as a nurses aide. I was assigned to her room. She was very ill. I work the 3 to 11 PM shift and I had to take her blood pressure every 30 minutes.
She was a very nice lady. I believe she told me she was a teacher and had no family left. She had been ill for a long while. She told me she was tired and was ready to leave this world. I prayed she would not die on my watch.
The next day when I worked, I was not assigned to her room. I went to the desk and asked about her. The ward clerk told me that Mrs Aldridge had passed away a little after 11:30 PM last night. My tears started to flow. I was so hurt to think that she died all alone, but I know God had a heavenly angel with her to take her Home.
I thanked God for Mrs. Aldridge and also for answering my prayer from the night before. Then I thanked God for answering her prayers and taking her Home. I will NEVER FORGET MRS. ALDRIDGE. She was a very sick, nice lady and I was just a 18 year old nurses aide, but she and God changed the way I looked at life that night. Yes, I know now that a angel of the Lord took her Home and she was not alone. We are never alone!
