Funeral Services for Orda William Bennett, 58, of White Oak will be held Sunday at 2 p.m. at the New Salem Baptist Church at Abraham with the Rev. I. E. Hatcher and Elder A. L. Neely in charge. Burial will be n the church cemetery.
Bennett was killed at 10 a. m. Thursday when a tree fell on him while cutting timber near Prince.
He was born Sept. 14, 1911 in Abraham, a son of the late David Bennett and Effie Smith Bennett, of Beckley who survives. He lived most of his life in Raleigh County. He was a member of the New Salem Baptist Church.
Surviving in addition to his mother is his wife, Leona of White Oak; three sons, Arlo and Ernest, both of White Oak, and Roy of Benton Harbor, Michigan; five daughters, Mrs. Theda Fox of Layland, Mrs. Wanda Glover of White Sulphur Springs, Mrs. Ethyl Plumbley of White Oak, Miss Mojine and Miss Myrtle Bennett, both of White Oak; 9 grandchildren; 7 brothers, Kyle of Delaware, Noah of White Oak, Earl of Beckley, Carl and John, both of Beckley, Edward and Omer, both of Cleveland, O.; four sisters, Mrs. Stella Adkins of White Oak, Mrs. Dexter Plumbley of Abraham, Mrs. Sona Pack of Streeter, and Mrs. Ruth Pack of Jumping Branch.
The body will remain at the Ronald Meadows Funeral Parlor in Hinton and will be taken to the church, one hour prior to funeral services.
