David Carter

Raritan - 62, died suddenly July 25, 2020. David was born in Somerville and was a lifelong resident of Raritan. He was employed by Raritan Department of Public Works, Somerset County 911 Communications, and Walko Automotive Service in Hillsborough. He was a member of the NJ State Firemans Relief Association and at the time of his passing, he was a life member of the Relief Hose Company #2 Raritan Fire Department where he had served as a lieutenant. David also volunteered as a firefighter for the Flemington Fire Department. In his spare time, David enjoyed camping, woodworking, riding his motorcycle, stock car racing, and was an avid Nascar fan. He will be sadly missed by all his family and friends.

He is predeceased by his father Robert Carter who passed away in 2019 and a brother Timothy Carter in 1983.

Surviving is his mother Edna Yurek Carter and many friends from his trailer park.

Prayers will be 9am Thursday at Bruce C. VanArsdale Funeral Home, 111 N. Gaston Ave, Somerville followed by a 10am mass at St. Joseph RC Church, Raritan. Interment will follow at St. Bernard Cemetery in Bridgewater.

Visitation will be 2-4pm and 7-9pm Wednesday at the funeral home.
