Mrs. Irene Schwartz - Former Teacher Here Dies in Corpus Christi
Mrs. Irene Moore Schwartz, a former Memphian who had lived about a year with a sister in Corpus Christi, Texas, died there at 11 a.m. yesterday after a short illness.
Services will be at 10a.m. Saturday at Memphis Funeral Home with burial in Forest Hill Cemetery.
Mrs. Schwartz, widow of E. R. Schwartz who died about four years ago, was born in Memphis and had lived here all her life until moving to Corpus Christi. She taught for many years at Memphis State University Training School before her retirement four years ago. She was a member of Madison Heights Methodist Church.
She leaves two sisters, Mrs. Marie Hulett of 110 South Tucker and Mrs. Viron Boothe of Corpus Christi.

Great-Aunt Irene was a long-time member of Character Builder Bible Class and also fought to keep the expressway from going through Overton Park.
