John McLellan was born May 9, 1853 in Ohio and died at age 98, Wednesday, March 12, 1952 in Odessa, Florida, his home since 1941. His widow, Selma McLellan (nee Pelzel) born May 10, 1873 in OH, died at age 85, Tues. Feb. 24, 1959 in a Tampa, FL hospital, residence 8009 11th St., Tampa, Fla. They were married more than 50 years and formerly lived at 14744 Broadway, Maple Heights, Ohio.

* Malcolm "Mac" McLellan of Chagrin Falls, OH born May 2, 1899 in Cleveland, died Saturday July 8, 1974 at Brentwood Hospital, Warrensville Hts, OH, age 73. He married Dec 20, 1926, Edna H. Boreman. She was born March 26, 1907 in Cleveland the daughter of Charles Boreman & Harriet Sharp. She died June 18, 1996 at home in Shaker Heights, OH, age 89.
* Rhoderick F. McLellan born 1902 in Cleveland, a painter of Cleveland, OH, married 1st May 12, 1924 Marguerite Nauman, the daughter of Clarence E. Nauman & Gardie A Deal. He married 2nd, age age 35, June 5, 1937, Marion E Smith. She was age 21, born 1916 in Cleveland, the daughter of Harry Smith & Mary Stewart

John was a Cleveland, Ohio labor leader whose labor career was marked by controversy. As a member of the Seaman's Union shortly after the turn of the century he was fired from his Great Lakes sailing job for refusing to work with a nonunion crew. Later, as a structural iron worker on the Williamson Building construction, he fell and broke his arms and legs. After he recovered Mr. McLellan joined old Local 102 of the Painters Union where he was a trustee, later becoming president of Local 867. He was ousted in an internal squabble in the 1930s.

John's funeral was in Odessa, FL. Selma's funeral was in Tampa, FL. Both were buried in Keystone United Methodist Church Cemetery
