Joseph P. Chandler, 73, of 2701 South 42nd in Kansas City, Kansas, passed away Sunday at the University of Kansas Medical Center. He was born in Springfield, Missouri, and had lived in the Kansas City area for 57 years. Mr. Chandler was a truck driver 19 years for the Wyandotte County Roads and Bridges Department before he retired in 1968. He was a Marine veteran of World War I and a member of the Quindaro American Legion. He was a member of the Open Door Baptist Church.

Mr. Chandler was survived by his wife, Mrs. Catherine Baur Chandler; two sons, Joseph W. Chandler of Kansas City and Dr. Edward L. Chandler of Charlotte, North Carolina; a daughter, Mrs. Catherine L. Lines, of Independence; three sisters, Mrs. Dorothy Burnett of Highland Park, California, Mrs. Violet Huff of Enid, Oklahoma, and Mrs. Marcellette Radcliff of Edwardsville; six grandchildren and three great-granddaughters.

Friends called on Monday evening at the Porter Chapel. Funeral services were held on Tuesday afternoon at the Porter Chapel. Burial followed in Highland Park Cemetery in Kansas City, Kansas.
