"The Late Mrs. Countess
Margaret Adelia McGregor, wife of Mr. Jas. Countess passed away here on Thursday last, the 11th inst., after a long illness in the 48th year of her age. Some nine years ago Mrs. Countess broke her arm, and from that time on she has not been well. Her trouble finally developed into pernicious anemia. She had been up and around until the early part of December when she commenced to fail rapidly. Deceased was born in Oshawa and in 1898 was united to Mr. Countess in marriage at Gesto, Colchester North. Fourteen years ago Mr. and Mrs. Countess removed to this town and have since resided here. Mrs. Countess was a Methodist, a member of the Ladies' Aid, W.M.S., and W.C.T.U. and before her illness was active in all these societies. She leaves a husband, one brother and three sisters to mourn her demise. The brother is H.B. McGregor, Detroit; and the sisters, Mrs. Lester Shields, Detroit; Mrs. W.W. Kerr, Maidstone; and Mrs. Jennie Smith, who stayed with Mrs. Countess during her illness. The funeral took place on Saturday last, interment being made in Rosehill Cemetery, Amherstburg."
