"McGREGOR - At Elmstead, home of her son-in-law, Mr. W.W. Kerr. Hanna Jane, relict of the late John McGregor, of Gesto, aged 78 years.
Deceased was born in New Brunswick. Her father John McFarlane, was a U.E. Loyalist, and his uncle was a Sergeant under Wellington and was at the battle of Waterloo. She was married to Mr. McGregor over 56 years ago at Oshawa and came to Essex County in 1872, being among the early settlers in Gesto district. They had a family of eight, two sons and six daughters, the daughters being: Mrs. H.B. McGregor, Detroit; Della, Mrs. James Countess, of Kingsville; Florence, Mrs. W.W. Kerr, of Maidstone; Jennie, wife of the late Walter Smith who was drowned at Sandwich by being run down by steamer Kirby; Maud, wife of Mr. Shields, of Detroit; Jessie, Mrs. Harry McLaughlin, is deceased. H.E. McFarlane, of Windsor is a brother of Mrs. McGregor and Miss Lottie E. McFarlane is a sister. The funeral took place on Monday from Elmstead to Rose Hill cemetery, Amherstburg in which her remains were placed by the side of her husband who died 15 years ago. The pallbearers were J.S. and J.W. Austin, James Coulter, Thomas Crozier, Wm. Blight and Mr. Hunter."

Hannah was living in Kingsville with her daughter Margaret at the time of the 1911 census. She died in Maidstone Twp. at Lot 15, Con. 8 of senility and heart failure. The informant was W.W. Kerr.
