Gwen Adams, age 87 of Abbeville, passed away Monday, August 17, 2020 in the Pruitt Health Care in Fitzgerald. A graveside service will be held at 10:00 AM Saturday, August 22nd in the Mitchell Family Cemetery. Reverend Debbie Cone will officiate.
Mrs. Adams was born on September 7, 1932 in West Palm Beach, Florida. She was daughter of the late Loran M. Adams and Flora Wilson Adams. She was Clerk of Wilcox County Board of Commissioners for many years. She was a member of Abbeville United Methodist Church where she was very much loved by all. She loved writing, learning, reading, visits to the beach, her family, playing piano, plants and geneology.
Survivors include: husband-Thomas D. Holcomb of Abbeville, daughter-Lorie Ann Averyt of Fitzgerald, and Nanny loved her grandchildren-Autumn Wall Mahoney (Rick) and Jay Wall (Jaime) and great-grandchild-Ali Six and Ray.
In lieu of flowers, the family request that donations be made in her honor to the Wilcox County Library.
Frazier and Son Funeral and Cremation Services is in charge of arrangements.
Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, we kindly ask everyone to please wear a mask for the service. We ask that you please limit attendance to a maximum of 50 people.
