John Layfield, B.C.L. was the son of Dr. Edward Layfield, D.D.
and Elizabeth Anne Montfort Layfield.
He attended St. John's College in 1661, earning his B.C.L.
He would then become Rector at Saint Mary's Church in
Chiddingfold in Surrey. (1663-1703)
He was also Rector in 1674 at Graffham, Sussex, England.
He married Judith Hatton Layfield at All Hallows,
Barking by the Tower, City of London, England
on February 16, 1663.
They had ten children:
