She was 97 and a resident of McComb.
Mrs. Boggan was a member of McComb Business and Professional Women's Club, which chose her for its Woman of the Year honor in 1984 and 1987. She also was a former secretary for the Mississippi Highway Department's district office in McComb and held numerous offices in the B&PW both locally and statewide.
The B&PW established the city's first library in 1924.
Visitation will be 5-9 tonight in Hartman Funeral Home of McComb and will continue there from 8 a.m. Tuesday until services at 3 p.m. in J.J. White Memorial Presbyterian Church. The Rev. Dick Swayze will officiate. Burial will be in Hollywood Cemetery.
Mrs. Boggan was born Oct. 25, 1893 in McComb. She was the daughter of Robert Edwards and Elizabeth Patterson Edwards.
She also was preceded in death by her husband, R. L. Boggan.
She is survived by a number of nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Dr. Robbie DeCoux, Jimmy Williams, Leo DeCoux, Sammy DeCoux, Petey Lampton and Barry Hart.
Memorials donations may be made to the J.J. White Memorial Presbyterian Church Building Fund.
