Angelo was 84. He was the founder and owner of Del's Lemonade & Refreshments, Inc. He passed away surrounded by his immediate family.

Angelo, who began Del's Lemonade in 1948, built his company product into one of Rhode Island's most recognizable trademark names. Born December 24, 1922 in Providence, he was the son of the late Frank and Filomena (Delmonico) DeLucia.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 62 years, Phyllis (DeSimone); and was a devoted father to his two children, a daughter Lorie A. Sardelli, and her husband Stephen; and his son Bruce DeLucia, President of Del's, and his wife Carol; and he will be sadly missed by his cherished grandchildren, Stephanie DeLucia and Nikkie Sardelli. He was the dear brother of surviving sisters Frances DeLucia, Ann Tudino and Jean Costantino; and brother of the late Clement and Joseph DeLucia. He also leaves behind many friends from all walks of life, especially his closest remaining World War II comrades who served with him in the 112th Gun Battalion AAA, in North Africa.

The Rhode Island native, and veteran of World War II, began his dream the old fashioned way - hard work and long hours. Starting from a one store operation, to now more than 50 locations throughout the country, he turned Del's Lemonade into Rhode Island's drink of summer; expanding year-round operations in university and hospital cafeterias, along with make-at-home mixes. 'Mr. D', as he was affectionately referred to, always called RI home to its corporate headquarters in Cranston. An avid baseball fan, he generously donated to many local little leagues, as well as to area charitable events statewide.

The man who gave so much to so many, will continue to give through the generous donation of his body to the Brown University medical school for research and studies.

He leaves behind memories of love and happiness. Of riding around in the original Del's trucks...having adventures of laughs and smiles. He was such a big part of everyone's life that had the pleasure of knowing him. He was always making people laugh and had the best stories to tell. He will be forever remembered and deeply missed.
