J. J. Malloy Dies in Hospital, Rites Saturday
Services for John Jefferson Malloy, 68, who died Thursday in a local
hospital, are set for 3 p.m., Saturday with burial from Bettes Chapel.
The Rev. Charles Stephens, Southwest Baptist Church, will officiate.
Burial will be in Rose Hill assisted by Cleve Day, Joe Martin, O.B. (Obie) Ward, Tommy Kerbo, Floyd Jeffus(Jeffers) and Bill West (Wesh).
Malloy, a brick and rock mason, was born March 7, 1876, in Fannin County, Texas and had lived in Ardmore 30 years.
He is survived by his wife, Minnie Lee, 1009 Hailey St., SE; three sons, Ray, Bakersfield, Calif.; W.L., U.S. Marine Corps, Honolulu, T.H.; Sylvester, Arvin, Calif.; two daughters, Mrs. Jess Day, Ardmore, and Mrs. M. W. Shelby, Comanche; a sister, Mrs. C. G. Stoutt, Ardmore; one half brother, Jake M. Sirkle, Bokchito; 15 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. Mr. and Mrs. Malloy were married at Yarnaby in 1911.
