Ruth Helene Aspinwall DeRosa was born in Springfield Center, NY in 1906. Ruth graduated as a registered nurse from the St Lukes Hospital School of Nursing in Utica, NY 1927. She did both hospital and private duty nursing until 1940 when her husband Victor DeRosa was called into the Army. After the war they moved to Syracuse, NY where she maintained the household and raised two children.
