Mr. Miller was born in Moore township Northampton County Pennsylvania June 10, 1814 on Blue Mountain. His father David Miller was a native of the same county born Oct 3,1786 & died May 18, 1866. David married Miss Barbara Reichner who was born May 26, 1791and died Feb 8, 1875. David & Barbara died in Madisonburg &were buried there but later Elias had them interred in the German Reformed Cemetery.
Elias married Miss Cecelia Marsch who was born Sept 24,1814. She was the daughter of John & Polly (Deemer) Marsch.
She died on April 9, 1886 and her remains were interred in the Reformed Church Cemetery. Mr. Miller subsequently married Miss Amanda Grimes a native of Miles Township. There were 3 children by the first marriage Harvey & Benjamin farmers of Brush Valley and Gideon who died Nov 3, 1863. One daughter was born to the second marriage Ancenetta born Apr 5 1887. Mr. Miller is a staunch Democrat as his father before him. He takes an active interest in religious movements and was a leading member of the Reformed Church.
