HAMPTON - Margaret Birkl, 94, of 61 Mill Road, formerly of Winnacunnet Road, died Sunday, March 5, 2000, at SunBridge Care & Rehabilitation for Exeter.
Born Feb. 24, 1906, in Dietersdorf, Germany, she was the daughter of the late John and Theresa (Lang) Mathes.
She immigrated to the United States in 1922 and resided in Queens County and later Nassau County in New York before moving to Hampton in 1975.
She was a communicant of Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal Church and was a member of the Hampton Senior Citizens.
She was the wife of the late Urban Birkl, who died in 1977.
Survivors include one daughter and her husband of Hampton; five grandchildren; and seven grandchildren.
She was predeceased by a son, Bernard Birkl; and a grandson, James Wardle.
