Charles Ervin Deal, age 27, son of Mr. and Mrs. Grover Deal, 178 F. 8th St., Peru, passed away in Irene Byron Sanitarium at 8 a.m. Monday after a years illness. His condition had been grave for 10 days before death.

Mr. Deal was born near Peru July 1st, 1913. He had been employed at the Wabash Railway shops. He was a member of the First Brethren church. Survivors besides the parents are a son, Clarence Melvin of Indianapolis, two brothers, Raymond and Harold at home. Mrs. Herman Williams of Denver, Mrs. Herbert Thomas, Mrs. Donald Leach and Lois Deal all of Fort Wayne, and Mrs. George Collins of Peru.

The funeral was held in the First Brethren Church of Peru at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Rev. S. M. Whetstone officiating. Burial was made in Mt. Hope cemetery.
