The Peru native retired in 1973 from East Allen County Schools, was a member of South Wayne Baptist Church and American Legion Post 47 Auxiliary.
Surviving are her husband, Donald; sons Herbert of Fort Wayne and Glenn of Angola; daughters Karen Matthias of Fort Wayne and Connie Cress of McAllen, Texas; 13 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
Services are pending for Friday at E. Harper & Son Funeral Home, 740 Indiana 930 E., New Haven, with calling from 6 to 9 p.m. Thursday. Burial will be in Covington Memorial Gardens.
