Jean passed away peacefully on Monday, February 1st, 2010 at North Okanagan Hospice House having reached the age of 75 years. She will be lovingly remembered by her family: one son, Randall (Shelley) of Quesnel, two daughters, Darlene England of Victoria and Charlene (Mike) Johnson of Vernon, seven grandchildren, one sister, Margaret Bowman of Red Deer, AB, one brother, Don (Lorna) Butts of Edson, AB, numerous nieces and nephews, sister-in-law, Marie Butts of Evansburg, AB, extended family and friends. Jean was predeceased by her husband, Ken, in 1992 and by one brother Bill.
She was a dedicated member of Royal Purple, serving as treasurer for a number of years and fundraising through bake sales and raffles and a founding member of "The Wacky Widows". She was a pioneer telephone worker, having been employed for many years with B.C. Tel and Telus.
The Memorial Service was held on Saturday, February 6th, 2010 at All Saints Anglican Church with The Reverend Rita Harrison officiating. A reception followed in the church hall.
