Elizabeth Cottle Seery, 90, has gone to be with the Lord on September 20, 2020. She was born on April 25, 1930 in Wilmington, North Carolina to the late Zebulon Vance and Leila Meadows Cottle. Liz showed strength and resilience her entire life. She made a difference in the lives of many that she cared for and loved.
Left to cherish her memory are her grandchildren, Brittany Seery Gavieres (Chris) and great-grandchild, Emilia Gavieres, Bradley Seery, and Tori Richardson Smith (Matt), Elizabeth’s children, Timothy Seery (Debbie) and grandson, Skyler Sawyer, Jeffrey Seery Lynch (Will), Ron Horton (Sandy), and her lifelong friend and cousin, Barbara Lewis (Ira). She is also remembered by her stepdaughter, Sandra Caudill and daughter Lisa and family, and stepson Butch’s wife, Connie Seery, and children, Scott Seery (Cheri), Brad Seery (Dawn), and Stacy Seery Freeman (Justin) along with their children.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph Leon Seery Sr., her stepson, Ralph “Butch” Seery, Jr., her son, Donald Richardson, and her brother Charles Cottle.
A family service was held graveside at 10 a.m. Wednesday, September 23, at the Rosewood Memorial Park where Elizabeth was buried next to her beloved husband, Ralph Leon Seery, Sr.
