Born in Powell, Oklahoma, she was the daughter of Walter and Hattie Bell (Thorne) Haynie. She married Carlice Dennis on May 13, 1939, in Kingston. They moved to the Pittsburg County area and owned and operated the Tannehill Store for a short time before her husband's death in 1979. She later worked as a cook at the Tannehill School and then worked at the Carl Albert Mental Health Center. A resident of McAlester, she died there at the age of 84. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband.
