Patrick Murphy's daughter Bridget married John Kidd, the store-keeper at Athlone, and their son John T. is Bishop of the Diocese of London. Another bachelor son, Joseph, and a maiden sister Kathleen run the old family store. Joseph is an artist of repute; portraits, landscapes and murals from his brush are hung in homes and churches throughout the Counties of Peel and Dufferin, also in and about Toronto.

John Kidd and Bridget Murphy's son Bishop John Thomas Kidd 1868-1950 is buried in the Crypt of St Peter's Seminary, London, Ontario.
