Funeral services will be Wednesday, October 14, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. at Dowdle Funeral Home in Millport, AL. with Bro. Ken Bozeman and Bro. Craig Holliman officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service in the chapel. Burial will follow at Macedonia FWB Church Cemetery in Millport under the direction of Dowdle Funeral Home.
He is preceded in death by his parents, his 1st wife of 57 years Willette Wheat, 3 brothers; Glendon Wheat, Reedus Wheat and Donald Wheat, 3 sisters; Sara Nell Shelton, Irene Kirk and Allene Wheat. He is survived by his 2nd wife, Adean Pender Wheat, 1 brother Joe Wheat, 1 son Keith Wheat, 3 daughters; Betty Langston, Barbie Patrick and Brenda Lett (Gary), 8 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.
Mr. Wheat was born in Pickens County, AL. to the late Nelson and Mamie (Carpenter) Wheat. He was a long-time resident of Millport, AL.
