A 1909 History of the Atwood reads:
III Abial (2), son of Abial (1) Atwood, was born in Middleborough, 1691, died at Berkley, Jan. 2, 1785, called eighty-eight, according to the insciption as copied from the gravestone. He settled at Berkley, Mass.
(P.S. if this transcripton is correct he was born not 1691 but 1696/1697. The account also hints that his son Lt Abiel Atwool 1727-1816 is buried in same cemtery along with his father and his wife ]
