Margaret was the daughter of Johannes Ebeling or Ebling and Maria Philipena Yeager of Alsace Twp., Berks Co., Pennsylvania. The year of her birth has not been proved. Some reports show it as 1748, but it may have been a few years later around 1752.

Note from Thomas Ebling:
Her birth date of 1748 is not correct. Her mother would of only been 13 years
old at the time. Her father, Johannes Ebling, did not even arrive in America
until 17 October 1749 (on the ship "Dragon"). Margaret's older sister Maria
Barbera Ebling was born between 1750 to 1752. I have Margaret's birth as between 1752 to 1753. Margaret's first born child was a girl named Elizabeth Miesse, born 5 January 1774, Windsor Township, Berks County, Pennsylvania 1774, Margaret would of been about 21 at this time.
