Caleb is the son of Eltweed Pomeroy & Margery Rockett.

Caleb husband of Hepzibah Baker. They married March 8,1665 in
Windsor, Hartford, Connecticut. Together they had 10 children; Hepzibah, Samuel, Abigail, Hepzibah, Ebenezer, Calab, Eldad, Hannah, Mercy, and Sarah.

Eltweed Pomeroy (1585-1673) was the founder of this family. Many of his descendants settled in Southampton. Pomeroy Mountain and Pomeroy Meadow Road were named for Caleb Pomeroy who settled here by 1665. Medad, Caleb, Mary (or Mercy), Joshua and Joseph were born in Windsor, in the Connecticut Colony. Of these children, only the four youngest sons (Medad, Caleb, Joshua and Joseph) had offspring, and it is the descendants of these children who are addressed in the books. Caleb was one of the Original settlers of Northampton. Was made free man in 1663, had home lot in section 6. Subscribed 3 pounds of flax to the Harvard College fund:took part in the Falls Fight May 19,1676.,in King Philip's war. On 1686 he sold his place and moved to Southampton or Easthampton, Mass.,and is an ancestor of all the Pomeroy's of those places.
