Ronald R. Erickson, age 68, of Friendship, WI, formerly of Yorkville, IL passed away on Tuesday, September 18, 2007 at the Bethany Health Care & Rehabilitation Center in DeKalb, IL. He was born on November 19, 1938 in Aurora, IL, the son of LeRay W. and Jeanette (Noga) Erickson.

Ron was united in marriage on April 14, 1962 at the Newark Lutheran Church in Newark, IL to the former Eunice Osmundson and they spent the next 37 happy years of their lives together until her passing on December 24, 1999.

Mr. Erickson proudly served his country with the United States Air Force and was a member of the American Legion Post #0277 in Necedah, WI. Mr. Erickson was a former member of the First Lutheran Church in Plano, IL. He was employed, for 32 years, by Caterpillar Inc., in Aurora, IL. Ron was the type of guy who was always more than willing to help others. He enjoyed working in both his garden and garage. Ron was a loving son, husband, father, grandfather, brother and uncle who will be deeply missed by his family and friends.

He is survived by his mother, Jeanette Erickson of Oswego, IL; his children, Richard (Melissa) Erickson of Sycamore, IL and Jodi (Mike) Coddington of Sycamore, IL; his grandchildren, Lyndsey and Jason Coddington and Raelyn and Kaylee Erickson; his siblings, David (LuAnne) Erickson of Dixon, IL, Bert (Holly) Erickson of Yorkville, IL, Darlene (Donn) Lull of Punta Gorda, FL, and Roseann Whiteside of Oswego, IL; as well as several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father, LeRay W. Erickson; his wife, Eunice Erickson; his brother, Richard Erickson at birth; and both his paternal and maternal grandparents.

Friends may visit from 4:00 until 8:00 P.M. on Friday, September 21, 2007 at the Larson-Nelson Funeral Home, 410 E. Countryside Parkway in Yorkville, IL. A Veterans Service for Mr. Erickson will then take place at 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home in Yorkville, IL. Private Interment will be held in the West Lisbon Cemetery, Lisbon, IL.
