Note: VA Nationwide Gravesite Locator Service indicates he died on 9/29/1862 and that the name is J. Edwards. The only soldier in the PA Archives web site who died at Antietam is James Edwards, Co. F, 69th PVI, died 9/24/1862. The name on the gravestone is James Edwards. Possibly, the VA Nationwide Gravesite Locator Service is incorrect.
