He is survived by his wife the former Margaret Creedon of Whitehall; a daughter, Mrs. Patrick Candela of Schenectady; three sons, Otto, of the US Navy Seebees, Edward, of the US Navy and Phillip Sawyer of Glens Falls; a stepson, John Luck of Schenectady; a sister, Mrs. Martha Proter of Streetroad; two brothers, John and Leon Sawyer both of North Ticonderoga.
Interment in Valley View cemetery.
