Marybelle Stockdale Tingle, 92, of Madison, died Monday, Sept. 24, 2007, at King's Daughters' Hospital.
She was born Dec. 26, 1914, in Trimble County, Ky., the daughter of Benjamin Ira and Josie Floyd Farley Stockdale. She was raised in Trimble County and Milton, Ky., and was a member of Mount Carmel Methodist Church. She was a homemaker and caregiver all of her life. She loved going to church and reading the Bible.
She is survived by three daughters, Linda Gray Grossen of Madison, Thelma Jo Gray of Brooksburg and Betty Ellis of Havana, Ark.; three sons, Billy Tingle of San Angelo, Texas, Ronnie Tingle of San Francisco, Calif., and Phillip Tingle of Madison; 17 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews and other relatives.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Marvin Tingle, who died Nov. 28, 1986; two sons, Marvin Tingle Jr., who died in September 1977, and Hubert Tingle, who died May 25, 2003; her parents; two brothers, Elmer and Wilbur Stockdale; two sisters, Lottie Hicks and Helen Leach; and two grandsons.
The funeral was to be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Morgan & Nay Funeral Centre. Burial will be in Mount Carmel Cemetery in Milton, Ky.
