Born in Providence, Kathy was the daughter of the late Edward and "Peg" (Cooney) Garrahy.
She served as the Assistant Director of the RI Department of Labor and Training for 35 years from which she retired in 2008.
Kathy spent many happy years supporting her sons at every golf event, football, baseball and basketball game
Later in life she was happiest when surrounded by her grandchildren. She also enjoyed traveling to Aruba, spending summers at Bonnet Shores and entertaining at her home surrounded by her family and close friends.
Kathy leaves her two sons, Sean Edward Serrecchia (Cara) of Saunderstown and Scott David Serrecchia (Talia) of Warwick. She will forever be remembered as "Mimi" to her six grandchildren, Mia, Luca, Milania, Salvatore, Camden and Julia. Kathy is also survived by her brother Ted (Tricia). She will always be in the hearts of her extended family; aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
Her funeral was held on Wednesday, December 20th, from the Russell J. Boyle and Son Funeral Home (142 Centerville Rd, (Rt. 117) Warwick, RI 02886). A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at Our Lady of Mercy Church (65 3rd St., East Greenwich, RI 02818) on Thursday, December 21st.. Burial followed the Mass at St. Francis Cemetery in South Kingstown.. boyleandsonfuneralhome.com
