Mary A Bennett was born to a loving home on November 9, 1938 in Cedar Vale, Kansas and went to be with her Lord on October 21, 2020. She was the third of four children of Merle and Lorena Pack. She was known to say that times were hard when they were growing up, but they knew they were loved beyond the value of anything that could be bought, and that money can't buy love and contentment. The family moved to Winfield, Kansas in 1951. She graduated from Winfield High School in 1956 where she then pursued her love of bookkeeping, working for Winfield Investment Company and later on Southwestern College, where she formed lifelong relationships that continue to today.

She married Richard Bennett on February 12, 1967 and moved to Kansas City where she became a stay at home mom to Richard's son Tim, who she lovingly raised as her own. She gave birth to their daughter Melanie in October of 1968 and relying on the solid teaching of her parents, raised her children to love the Lord, to take pride in a job well done, be respectful and treasure their family.

She was a woman of deep faith and a long-time member of Christian Assembly of God Church where she served as church treasurer for over 50 years. Her talents offered were not limited to the office, as she willingly helped wherever she was needed, from teaching Sunday School classes to coordinating meals for church gatherings or singing in church services with her beautiful soprano voice. She was a faithful prayer warrior and a dependable mentor to many with a gentle, kind spirit always giving the right sound advice at just the right time. Her favorite bible verse was Psalm 61:1-3 "The will of God will not lead you where the grace of God cannot keep you".
After her children were older, Mary took a job at Galen Boyer Motors in Independence, MO where she worked in reception and the office for 15 years. She was well known for her perfect phone voice, and worked the busy switchboard with ease.

Mary enjoyed retirement with her husband and occasional travel. She was a proud Grandmother, willingly sharing pictures and stories of her pride and joy to anyone that would listen. In the middle of this very difficult year of 2020 she became a Great Grandmother. She was able to enjoy this little blessing for four precious months, and there is no doubt that her little sweetheart will grow up knowing the depth of love that she had for her.

There is no doubt that she was met at Heavens gates by her parents; her sister Bwana Drennan; nephews Brad Musgrove, Mont Pack and Buck Carpenter, along with brothers in law Dave Musgrove and Jim Bennett and son in law Mike Walker.
She will be missed by many, but especially her loving husband Richard; son Tim Bennett; daughter Melanie Walker; grandchildren Blake and Brandi Housley; great granddaughter Nora James Housley; sister Nedra Musgrove; brother Aaron Pack and wife Jeanette; sister in law Mary Kay Bennett; brother in law Robert Drennan, and several treasured nieces and nephews.
